Can you be sure?
Jesus said that if we love Him we will obey his commands. He went on to say that not everyone who says that He is their Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven but only those who do the will of his father.
The question we should ask ourselves is what is it that Jesus commanded of us and what is the will of the Father?
He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
Do you love God and your neighbor as yourself?
We live in a time that most do not love their neighbor as themselves. Satan knows how do drive his wedge. This wedge comes to us in the name of politics, in the name of patriotism, in the name of traditions, in the name of safety, in the name of security, in the name of popularity, in the name of acceptance. Though it comes in the name all of these and more we know it by another name, it's true name. The enemy's wedge brothers and sisters is fear! The fear of men separates us from one another and separates us from God. It is this year that dibiltates and destroy.
Does fear drive your decisions?
Remeber this: "There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects punishment. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love." 1 John 4:18 CEB
The true followers of Jesus the anointed one will Love God and love others, they will be merciful as their Heavenly Father is merciful, they will be perfect as there Heavenly father is perfect. We will be driven by love not fear.
"This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love each other as he commanded us. The person who keeps his commandments remains in God and God remains in him; and this is how we know that he remains in us, because of the Spirit that he has given to us."
Are you a Christian?
It is easy to know the answer to this question.
What drives you?
Is it the Holy Spirit of God that guide you, gives you boldness, and power to live out the Lord's comand to love God and others.
